Into the Planetomb

Into the Planetomb is a sci-fi / fantasy tactical role-playing game. It was initally developed after a discussion with friends about creating tabletop RPGs with a tactical focus.

This version has seen limited playtesting, mostly with solitaire simulations, spreadsheets / theorycrafting. Feedback is welcome, and it is released under a Creative Commons license, so everyone is free to change and adapt it under the license's terms.

Setting

Characters are the first generation of explorers, mercenaries etc. who try to find fortune in a planet-sized necropolis that was protected by an impervious shield for millenia.

Features

Unified resolution mechanics with opposed rolls.

Focus on tactical encounters, with movement, cover, positioning, different damage types and effects.

Character progression based on levels and templates. At some levels it is possible to switch between templates, creating hybrid characters.
